Louis Vuitton Bumbag Review and 5 Ways To Style It

A luxury handbag has always been my favorite kind of gift. Before purchasing a new bag though, I like to do a lot of research on it beforehand. First I look up ways to style the bag on Pinterest, then watch lots of YouTube reviews about the bag. I’ll even go into the store to see the bag in person. And then I wait for a few months to pass. If several months go by and I’m still obsessing over the bag, then I feel I’m making a good decision. The latest bag added to my collection is the Louis Vuitton Bumbag in classic monogram canvas.

So today I’m writing a Louis Vuitton Bumbag review, sharing some ways to style the bum bag, as well as my final thoughts on whether or not it’s a good investment. If you’re searching for your next luxury bag, you’ve come to the right place!

Louis Vuitton Bumbag Review

Monti Wheeler from Purfect Sunday blogger using the Louis Vuitton Bumbag

One of the reasons I love the Louis Vuitton Bumbag is that the design effortlessly merges functionality with style. And because it’s worn differently than any purse, it’s a fashion accessory that stands out in a crowd. Iconic monogram canvas, a hallmark of the brand that we’re all familiar with, is meticulously crafted onto the bag’s exterior. The attention to detail is evident in every stitch, making it clear that this is a piece designed to last. With its sleek and compact size, the Louis Vuitton Bum Bag perfectly balances spaciousness and practicality, allowing you to carry your essentials easily. Now, let’s get into the other reasons to love this bag.

Versatility

The remarkable versatility of the Louis Vuitton Bumbag is a key feature that sets it apart from other bags. It has a practical design that allows it to be worn in multiple ways, making it suitable for various occasions. It can be worn around the waist like a traditional fanny pack. (This is why it’s also known as the Louis Vuitton Belt Bag.) You can sling it across your chest as a crossbody bag for a laid-back, sporty vibe. Or worn on one shoulder like a traditional shoulder bag.

The adjustable strap allows for a comfortable fit, while the spacious interior easily accommodates essentials like your phone, keys, and wallet. The straps are also removable, so you can even use it as a clutch for evening outings or more formal events.

Its ability to transform and be styled in different ways makes it an accessory that can be worn with almost any outfit. The Bumbag’s ability to effortlessly adapt to your preferred style ensures that you’ll get maximum use and enjoyment out of your investment, making it a very practical bag for day-to-day life.

Craftsmanship

Monti Wheeler, the Purfect Sunday blogger, using the Louis Vuitton Bumbag

The Louis Vuitton brand was established in Paris in 1854, and its long-standing commitment to craftsmanship is evident in every stitch and detail. This guarantees that if treated right, their bags will remain impeccable for years to come. This includes the Bumbag, which is crafted from the finest materials, and with meticulous attention to detail, this bag is built to last. The robust hardware, including the smooth zippers and sturdy strap, ensures that the bag can withstand regular use and the rigors of daily life without showing signs of wear and tear.

I still have and use my first LV bag I got for Christmas 20 years ago. Knowing that I can use my Louis Vuitton bags for decades and that I will even be gifting them to my daughter one day makes them a wise investment for those seeking a long-lasting accessory.

Spaciousness

This small bag will surprise you with its ability to hold all of your essentials without feeling cramped or bulky. Despite its compact design, the Bumbag’s storage capacity can comfortably accommodate all your daily essentials. In fact, it can hold more than my other medium-size bags like the ones from Chanel and Bottega Veneta.

The main compartment of the Bumbag provides ample space for all your items. You can easily fit a small wallet, phone, keys, and even a compact makeup kit or small water bottle. A front zippered slip pocket offers a convenient spot for storing items you need quick access to. This is where I keep my lip balm, ID, and credit cards if I don’t have my wallet. The thoughtful design ensures that your belongings are organized and easily accessible, eliminating the hassle of rummaging through a cluttered bag.

Material

The high-quality material used in the construction of the Louis Vuitton Bumbag truly sets it apart from other fashion accessories on the market. The Bumbag’s Monogram canvas is known for its resistance to wear and tear, making it a suitable choice for an everyday accessory. Whether you’re exploring the city streets or attending a social event, rest assured that this bag will maintain its flawless appearance.

The Bum Bag also comes in beautiful black or creme Empreinte leather, which I also love. I bought my bag preloved, but on the LV website, there are some new patterns and styles for sale.

Price

Purchasing a Louis Vuitton bag or any other luxury brand item comes at a high cost, so weighing that cost against the value received is important. And with a price tag that reflects the brand’s prestige and craftsmanship the Louis Vuitton Bumbag is no exception.

While the exact cost may vary depending on factors such as location and which material you choose for your bag, it’s important to remember that a luxury item like this is an investment in quality, craftsmanship, and style.

5 Ways To Style Your Louis Vuitton Bumbag

Athleisure Outfits

One of my favorite ways to style the LV Bumbag is with athleisure wear. I also love the contrast of the monogram version of the bag against black. (Since black is my favorite color to wear, this is perfect for me.)

This look easily works for the morning school drop-off, followed by my coffee run, morning walk, and daily errands. The bag can easily fit all the essentials plus a small sunscreen, Ipods, and my rolled-up sun visor. The best part is that the hands-free convenience provides both practicality and style, allowing you to go about your day with ease while still making a fashion statement.

Business Casual

Most people probably wouldn’t associate a “fanny pack” with business attire. But as you can see, The Bumbag will allow you to pull together a trendy business casual outfit.

When it comes to business casual attire, the key is to keep it classic and polished. Pair your black leather Bumbag with matching neutral colors like black, gray, navy, or beige. Even with minimal embellishments, you’ll still look great and stand out while being properly dressed for the occasion.

Casual Daytime Outfits

If you’re looking to elevate your everyday look, the Bumbag can effortlessly do that, too. Even the most casual outfit can be upgraded with this designer item without looking out of place.

This can easily be your everyday bag, with styling options offering a more casual but polished appearance, making it ideal for brunches, lunches, or shopping trips with friends.

On Date Night

Another thing I love about the Bumbag is that I can take it from a daytime look to an evening out without having to switch bags. The Bumbag can even be transformed into a stylish clutch for special occasions or evenings out. Simply remove the strap and carry it by the top handle for a chic look.

The sleek design of the New Wave Bumbag in Black is shown in the photo above. This more elegant version of the bag is perfect for date night, dressier occasions, and evening attire. Whether attending more formal occasions or enjoying a romantic dinner, the Bumbag effortlessly adds a sophisticated edge to your ensemble.

Travel Outfits

Lastly, the Bumbag and the LV Neverfull are my favorite travel bags. The bag is the perfect size to keep all your travel documents on you while allowing you to be hands-free.

Where To Buy A Louis Vuitton Bumbag

The OG LV Bumbag was originally launched in Louis Vuitton’s 2018 Spring collection. It quickly became one of Louis Vuitton’s best-selling items. In fact, it was in such high demand it was hard to find in stores and had extensive wait lists. To the dismay of many Louis Vuitton lovers, the beloved bag was discontinued in April 2022.

Although the original design can no longer be found in a Louis Vuitton boutique the popularity of the LV bumbag persists. Luckily, you can find the Empreinte leather and the original monogram canvas bum bag for sale on multiple resale sites. It’s worth noting that price increases of preowned bags make them more expensive than the original price of a new Bumbag.

Below are a few resale sites that I have actually shopped from.

  • FASHIONPHILE. I have bought three bags from this site and am happy with them.
  • VESTIAIRE COLLECTIVE. I’ve yet to buy a purse from this site, but I have purchased designer boots and coats. I don’t feel the quality control is as good as Fashionphile. However, you can usually find better prices as well as negotiate the price with the seller.
  • The Real Real. This is another resale website where I have bought items from. I have also sold luxury items on this site several times. So, I know that the authentication process they go through before accepting an item is thorough, and shopping feels safe.

Similar Looks for Less

You may love the look of The LV Bumbag, but it does come with a hefty price tag. With that in mind, here are a few other options that can give you the same look for less.

Is The Louis Vuitton Bumbag Worth The Hype?

The Louis Vuitton Bumbag’s durability, iconic branding, and seamless integration into various styles make it a worthwhile investment. Especially for those seeking a luxury accessory that also provides undeniable value. Whether you’re a fashion enthusiast or appreciate the finest craftsmanship, the Louis Vuitton Bumbag proves to be a statement piece that will stand the test of time.

The most important $27 I ever spent taught me why I overspend.

You buy something you didn’t really need. You feel amazing for about an hour. Then the good feeling quietly turns into guilt… and the little speech starts: why did I do that?

This week’s episode of the Purfect Sunday Podcast is about the emotional side of money — not budgeting or spreadsheets, the feelings underneath what and why we buy. 💛

Here’s what I learned the hard way:
→ Most spending was never about the thing. It’s about a feeling we’re trying to change — stress, sadness, boredom, loneliness, feeling invisible.

→ Breaking the cycle isn’t about white-knuckling your way through life never buying anything nice. It’s naming the emotion driving the need to shop, and putting time between the urge and the buy.

This week’s challenge: next time you feel the urge to buy something you weren’t planning on, pause before you check out and ask one question — what am I feeling right now?

We officially have 6 months left in 2026 — and no, you are not behind.

Six months is enough time to lock in. To become the girl who drinks the water, reads the books, moves her body, takes care of her hair, skin and nails, and actually dresses like she’s the main character. Six months is enough time to glow up in any area of your life you’ve been putting off.

And here’s your reminder: money spent on your health, learning, and feeling your best — is never wasted. That’s not splurging. That’s investing in the woman you’re becoming.
Half the year is still yours. Let’s not waste it. 🤍
