Unlike some other fabrics such as corduroy and velvet, which are normally only worn in the Fall and Winter, denim works great no matter the time of year. It can easily be dressed up or down depending on the look you’re going for and it’s not limited to denim jeans either. You have jean jackets, button-down denim shirts, skirts, dresses, and a summertime staple, of course, cut-off denim shorts. So many options. So many outfit ideas! From street style to high fashion it’s hard to go wrong with denim.

So! I’m rounding up some of my favorite cute denim outfit ideas that you can pull inspo from any time. I’ll be updating this post with new outfits periodically, so be sure to check back every now and then!

Denim Shorts Outfit

Cute Denim Outfit Ideas

Denim shorts are pretty much my summertime uniform. These shorts from Levi’s are a favorite of mine because they’re high-waisted but don’t ride up and give you a horrible wedgie.

I usually pair my short shorts with a larger, looser top to balance out the outfit. I love wearing mine with a light and airy cotton button-down and some slides or sandals. And maybe even a tank top in really warm weather.

Denim Jacket Outfit

A jean jacket is usually the perfect weight for summer evenings. You can wear them with anything but I particularly like to wear mine with dresses. If you’re looking for a new jacket, a few of my favorites are made from these brands.

  • RAG & BONE
  • Levi’s

Double Denim Outfit

If you’re going to be wearing head-to-toe denim, there are a couple of things to keep in mind while planning your outfit.

  1. The first is to pair different shades of denim together. Like a lighter shirt and darker bottoms that I’m wearing in the above picture. Keep in mind that that darker shades are more slimming, that’s why I always darker jeans and lighter denim up top.
  2. Mix up distressed pieces with more polished pieces. Distressed denim is more relaxed and will help your outfit not look like a uniform.
  3. Breakup the denim by mixing in some other colors. A white t-shirt under a blue denim jacket does this perfectly.

White Denim Outfit

Besides being a classic summer look, any outfit is elevated when the denim is switched to white. White denim never goes out of style.

White jeans can be paired with absolutely any color and look good. But a few favorite color combinations of mine are white on white, light blue and neutrals like beige are effortlessly classic. I love that you can wear white jeans anywhere, and effortlessly lighten up the space.

Causal Denim Outfit

Cropped and Casual Denim Outfit

Cropped and cuffed jeans worn with a small tank or crop top are pretty much my summer uniform and favorite way to style jeans. When worn with a blazer you can take this look from day to night by switching out sneakers for heels.

Best Denim Brands

LEVI’S

With tons of styles, cuts, and colors to choose from, you can always count on Levi’s to deliver. And, you can always count on Levi’s for durability. When I make an investment in a pair jeans from Levi’s, I know it’s an investment in the longevity of my wardrobe. See some of my favorite Levi’s here.

RAG AND BONE

rag & bone gives such Urban vibes. When it comes to denim, they are most well-known for their extra details and color denim. Think studded back pockets and extra cool color patterns. Whether you’re in search of new jeans or a cozy new jean jacket, you’ll find what you need at rag & bone.

AGOLDE

AGOLDE is one of my all time favorite denim brands. I’ve previously featured many AGOLDE denim products, and for good reason. AGOLDE jeans just have such a classic feel about them, and I am consistently impressed by the fit of their jeans. 10/10, would highly recommend.

FIDELITY DENIM

I love to wear a good denim jacket, and some of my absolute favorite classic denim jackets are from Fidelity Denim. All Fidelity Denim is crafted in Los Angeles, and made with only the best Japanese and Italian denim. And honestly, you can really tell a difference. Purchase directly from their website or find plenty of their products on Nordstrom.

The most important $27 I ever spent taught me why I overspend.

You buy something you didn’t really need. You feel amazing for about an hour. Then the good feeling quietly turns into guilt… and the little speech starts: why did I do that?

This week’s episode of the Purfect Sunday Podcast is about the emotional side of money — not budgeting or spreadsheets, the feelings underneath what and why we buy. 💛

Here’s what I learned the hard way:
→ Most spending was never about the thing. It’s about a feeling we’re trying to change — stress, sadness, boredom, loneliness, feeling invisible.

→ Breaking the cycle isn’t about white-knuckling your way through life never buying anything nice. It’s naming the emotion driving the need to shop, and putting time between the urge and the buy.

This week’s challenge: next time you feel the urge to buy something you weren’t planning on, pause before you check out and ask one question — what am I feeling right now?
