The Date Night Looks You Need For Fall
Not sure where, or if I ever really mentioned it, but I got married when I was 18 years old. 18 years later, I got divorced. For the last two years, I’ve been settling into being single for what’s pretty much, the first time in my adult life. And whereas I’ve really enjoyed my freedom and solitude, I’ve recently begun to think that maybe, just maybe it would be fun to start dating.
I say maybe for several reasons. First off, I don’t like the idea of dating apps. But I also know that my introverted self doesn’t leave my house often enough to really meet new people. Secondly, small talk is a form of personal hell and I try and avoid it at all costs. But I’m looking at this as an adventure, the same way I do anything else I’m unsure about.
The one thing that I do know for sure though, is that I’m enjoying the shopping and having fun reasons to dress up and get out more often.
Date Night Looks You Need For Fall: Date Vibes For Day And Night
Fall time has forever been my favorite season for the weather and fashion. And since I’ve decided to make an effort to start going out again, I’ve been having a lot of fun putting together outfits in new ways by combining clothes I already own with some new purchases that pair well with pieces in in my closet. I usually end up shopping online at Revolve, because they carry so many brands I love, have pretty much every type of clothing you can think of in a range of prices, and the shipping is always super fast! Here are some of my favorite items I’ve recently found and worn for dates, girl’s night out, and just hanging out with friends.
Not So Basic Jeans
I’ve always been a sucker for a good pair of jeans. Even though I’m trying to expand my wardrobe and wear more dresses, jeans are still my go-to. And more specifically right now, these bootcut jeans from GRLFRND. Not only are they a true high rise, something that the long torso girls who know the struggle will appreciate. But the high-waisted style combined with a longline bootcut, that’s meant to drape over your heels, is incredibly flattering and will make your legs look extra long and lean.
I paired it with this black sweater from Superdown. It’s warm enough to wear on its own on cooler nights. And the hook and eye closer give a peekaboo effect that’s sexy but understated.
Mini Dress
Even though I love dresses, jeans are always my first choice when getting dressed. But I’m working on being more comfortable with wearing dresses and skirts of all lengths. This mini dress is fun for the daytime. The fabric is ribbed jersey so it’s stretchy and warm, but breathable. My favorite part of the dress though is the wrap overlay that ties on the side. It somehow manages to both cinch your waist, but also hide your belly after a big brunch! I’ve only worn it during the day with sneakers, but think that it would also be cute at night with boots.
Little Black Dress
Every woman needs at least one LBB in her closet. And this one from Lovers and Friends is perfect for fall. Although on the shorter side, the thick, soft material will keep you warm and cozy, while looking sexy and mysterious. I like pairing this dress with tall boots for a fall weather vibe and think that it will look amazing with an open trench coat or duster in the winter.
Midi Dress
I absolutely love this dress from Lovers And Friends for the asymmetrical hemline and ruching. I feel like it’s business on the left side and party on the right! It’s super sexy without being too revealing, making it perfect for a dinner date or night out. I paired it with brown suede heels which feel appropriate for the fall season.
Black Midi Dress
This black midi dress has a longer hemline, but the high side slit and open back make this dress ultra sexy and feminine. The simple strappy stilettos and black headband made this all-black look effortlessly glamorous.
Casual Comfy And Cute
As fun as it is to go out, sometimes it really is more enjoyable to stay home and relax on your couch while watching your favorite shows. If I were home alone, I would probably just wear a robe, but obviously can’t do that with company over. In this case, I opt for comfy basics that are comfortable but still cute. like this long sleeve top from Superdown. The hook and eye closure allow you to open the top and bottom of the shirt so you can decide how much skin you want to show.
Let me know which of these outfits are your favorite, and what are your go-to looks for going out!
