10 Casual Outfit Ideas For Spring

May 2, 2024

One of the perks of living in Southern California is having great weather pretty much year-round. Still, every time spring rolls around, I feel like I’ve just come out of hibernation and need to soak up the warmer air, brighter sun, and aromatic florals every chance I get.

Spring is also the perfect time to experiment with different outfits. There are the usual trends like florals, pastels, woven bags, and lots of cotton and linen, but one of the many things I love about fashion is the “rules” are more like suggestions. As you put together outfits for the season, consider your personal style and comfort level.

If you’re unsure where to start, you’ve come to the right place. I’m sharing ten casual outfits that you can wear this spring.

10 Casual Outfit Ideas For Spring

Cargo Pants With A Graphic Tee

When it comes to styling a casual outfit, comfort is key. It doesn’t get much more comfortable than a loose tee. But as much as I would love to wear pajama pants 24/7, sometimes I do need to leave the house without looking like a total mess. That’s when cargo pants really come in handy.

A trendy pair of cargo pants with a graphic tee is an easy outfit to put together, and it’s super versatile, too. Add a denim jacket if you need an extra layer. Lace-up a pair of white sneakers or slip on some flip-flops. Throw your hair into a messy bun, and get going!

High-Waist Midi Skirt With Fitted White Tee

This casual spring outfit is inspired by my amazing trip to Greece. Comfort was super important to me as I put together outfits for my trip, but of course, I wanted to look good too. One of the outfits I wore during my trip has since become a frequent look for springtime back home.

The Band of the Free skirt is no longer available, but for a similar look, grab the Celene Deep Teal Layered Midi Skirt and pair it with a white fitted t-shirt.

Low-Rise Boyfriend Jeans With Black Cropped Tank Top And White Nike Sneakers

This is one of my go-to casual everyday looks. It’s perfect for spring when the temps are teetering between warm and hot. You might already have the pieces for this look in your closet, but if you don’t, here’s what I’m rocking: Low-Rise Boyfriend Jeans, a black cropped tank top, white Nike sneakers, and my favorite Bottega Veneta Hobo bag.

For more ways to wear these jeans, check out my post on how to style straight-leg jeans.

Black Straight-Leg Jeans, Light Blue Cropped Tank, And A Black Blazer

Whether you’re running errands, grabbing coffee, or walking your dog, this outfit is perfect for casual spring days.

I started with these AGOLDE 90’s Pinch Waist jeans in black, added a light blue cropped tank and a relaxed blazer, and then put on my white and black Chuck Taylor All Stars.

Wide-Leg Linen Blend Pants And A Fitted Tank

Wide-Leg Linen Blend Pants And A Fitted Tank

If you’re looking for some outfit ideas that include linen pants, this one’s for you. The combination of a knit tank with breezy linen pants is perfect for warm spring days. I filmed an aesthetic spring reel a couple of years ago wearing this outfit because I felt confident and beautiful despite the effortless, casual vibe of this look.

For this look, grab this Dusty Blue Knit Tank Top and the Steve Madden Venetia Pant. Throw on some sandals and a pair of sunglasses and film your own reel to celebrate spring.

Floral Dress With Cowboy Boots

I never feel more myself than when I’m wearing black or neutrals. But talking about spring fashion without mentioning florals feels wrong. So, when I want to wear florals for spring, I tend to stick to the colors I feel most like myself in.

These dresses from Astr The Label are a fantastic example. It’s perfect for days when you want to dress up a bit, but still maintain a casual vibe. Especially when you slip on a pair of cowboy boots. Like I’ve said before, cowboy boots will always have a place in my heart.

Barrel Leg Jeans With A White Linen Tank

Before you immediately reject the thought of wearing barrel-leg jeans, I urge you to at least try on a pair. They might look a little goofy on the models in the product photos, but once you put them on and move around a bit, they look a lot less oval-shaped and more like wide-leg jeans.

On casual days when I’m in the mood to wear jeans, I often reach for these Free People Barrel Leg Jeans. In this photo, I styled them with a linen blend tank like the SNDYS Cottage Top. Complete the look with a pair of brown leather flip-flops. Step outside of your comfort zone and give this spring outfit a try.

Maxi Dress

A maxi dress is a must-have for spring. I recommend having a few in your closet to match whatever vibe you’re feeling that day. This cut-out front-tie maxi dress is a great option because it can be dressed up or down. For a casual look, style it with sandals (and maybe even a straw hat). It’s gorgeous enough on its own that you might even be inspired to go au naturel and let your natural beauty shine under the spring sun.

White Jeans With A White Tank And Lace Duster Kimono

My love of neutrals is on full display, even when spring rolls around. This photo is from a while back, but I’m bringing it back to show you a fun way to lighten things up when you aren’t feeling particularly colorful.

The Le High Straight in Blanc from Frame are easily among the most comfortable pairs of jeans I’ve ever worn. To create a comfortable, casual, boho-inspired spring outfit, I like to wear them with a white tank and lace duster.

Black Leggings With A Cropped Cardigan

Black Leggings With A Cropped Cardigan | Casual Outfit Ideas For Spring

It doesn’t get much easier than this casual weekend look. All you need is a good pair of black leggings (squat-proof, of course) and a cropped cardigan. You can add a tank underneath for an extra layer, then complete the look with a pair of sneakers.

Oversized Cardigan With Wide-Leg Pants

If you know me, you know I had to throw in an all-black outfit. Yes, even for spring. This is one of my favorite everyday casual outfits and it’s super easy to throw together. Just grab a loose-fit, oversized cardigan and a pair of wide-leg pants. Black Vans were an easy shoe choice.

These outfits prove it is possible to look chic while keeping it casual.

I love these looks for those days when I don’t feel like putting a lot of effort into getting dressed. They’re proof that you can still be stylish on super casual days.

Now I’d love to know which of these spring outfits you rock on a casual day. Share in the comments below, then be sure to check out my blog for more fashion, beauty, and wellness inspiration.

The most important $27 I ever spent taught me why I overspend.

You buy something you didn’t really need. You feel amazing for about an hour. Then the good feeling quietly turns into guilt… and the little speech starts: why did I do that?

This week’s episode of the Purfect Sunday Podcast is about the emotional side of money — not budgeting or spreadsheets, the feelings underneath what and why we buy. 💛

Here’s what I learned the hard way:
→ Most spending was never about the thing. It’s about a feeling we’re trying to change — stress, sadness, boredom, loneliness, feeling invisible.

→ Breaking the cycle isn’t about white-knuckling your way through life never buying anything nice. It’s naming the emotion driving the need to shop, and putting time between the urge and the buy.

This week’s challenge: next time you feel the urge to buy something you weren’t planning on, pause before you check out and ask one question — what am I feeling right now?

We officially have 6 months left in 2026 — and no, you are not behind.

Six months is enough time to lock in. To become the girl who drinks the water, reads the books, moves her body, takes care of her hair, skin and nails, and actually dresses like she’s the main character. Six months is enough time to glow up in any area of your life you’ve been putting off.

And here’s your reminder: money spent on your health, learning, and feeling your best — is never wasted. That’s not splurging. That’s investing in the woman you’re becoming.
Half the year is still yours. Let’s not waste it. 🤍
