Naturally Grow Thicker Longer Lashes
For the last 10 years, I’ve been all about eyelash extensions. Every two weeks without fail, I was at the makeup
artist salon to get a fill. I did find the maintenance of keeping perfect lash extensions tiresome. But I did love waking up and feeling good about my appearance. Overall I wore a lot less eye makeup and that saved me a lot of time getting ready every day. When Covid closed down all the salons, along with everything else, it was time to accept that my love affair with eyelash extensions had come to an end.
Once all the false lashes had fallen off I saw that my natural lashes were very thin and short. I also had a lot of hair loss on the outside corners of my eyes. I seriously felt so naked!
I bought false lashes to put on at home, but I could never get a hang of it. After gluing my eye open (seriously what the hell!) I gave up and started working on how to grow lashes back ASAP.
Naturally Grow Thicker Longer Lashes
I ended up with a couple of home remedies that I found to work well. My lashes grew back longer and fuller. And even though it took a bit longer, the hair loss on the outer corners of my eyes came back as well. This is what I do daily now to keep my lashes healthy and looking their natural best.
The first is a lash serum. I use RevitaLash and have always had good results with it. Out of all the lash serums I’ve used it’s the first that I’d recommend. However, it is pricy and hard to get in California, something to do with a lawsuit from Latisse. A second serum that I’ve read good reviews on and my friends love is GrandeLash. It’s more affordable and doesn’t have restrictions in certain states. However it did irritate my eye, so I stopped using it after 2 days.
The Second thing I’m using is castor oil. This thick oil is rich in minerals and fatty acids that help nourish and stimulate hair growth while strengthening the lashes in a natural way.
If you don’t have castor oil on hand, other great oils to use are Vitamin E Oil, Almond, Jojoba, and Avocado. One last thing that’s not new to me, but that I’d recommend is taking a biotin supplement. Biotin stimulates keratin production in hair and can increase the rate of follicle growth.
What to Do
- At night before bed, wash your face and be sure to remove any eye makeup or facial products.
- After your eye area is dry, apply a thin layer of serum along your top lash line. Then wait a few minutes for it to soak in and dry.
- Dip a cotton swab in your oil of choice, you only need a little bit per eye, so don’t soak it.
- Gently run the cotton swab along the lash line being careful not to get any excess oil in your eye.
- Then lightly coat your lashes with a tiny bit of oil on your fingertip.
I usually alternate nights with the oil and serum. Or if I’m home all day with no makeup on, I’ll put the castor oil on in the morning as well.
Repeat this process a few times a week and you should soon be noticing thicker healthier lashes!
