6 Easy Fall Decorating Ideas
September 22nd is the official first day of Autumn this year. Los Angeles weather can be tricky, with some years maintaining 80-degree weather into December. But this year luck was on our side and temperatures dropped earlier this month. Mornings and evenings are chilly leaving one with the desire to stay indoors and bundle up. And most importantly I got to do some seasonal redecorating around the house. So, here are my 6 easy fall decorating ideas to bring some Autumn vibes to your space.
Easy Fall Decorating Ideas
Fall Inspired Florals
Adding some fall florals to different rooms in your home is an easy way to reflect the changing seasons. A vase filled with autumnal florals like eucalyptus leaves, pampas grass, and smaller blooms will instantly add color and texture to a room. Look for florals that reflect nature’s changing colors like wheat, burgundy, and burnt orange. Dried botanicals last a long time or you can opt for faux flowers which look incredibly real nowadays.
Seasonally Inspired Throw Pillows
Every fall the throw pillows change from light and airy summer colors to warm earth tones. It’s an easy and inexpensive way to change the feel of a room without having to completely change everything and break the bank. Earthy tones like beige, taupe, and shades of brown, in soft but weightier fabrics will add warmth while still keeping your space light. Mix and match patterns and fabrics to add texture and dimension.
Hang A Seasonal Wreath
Whether it’s real or faux, you can always count on a seasonally inspired wreath to make a tasteful statement. Look for wreaths in Autumn colors of wheat, burgundy, gold, and eucalyptus. Investing in a natural-looking, high-quality wreath will allow you to make this added greenery a mainstay in your home decorations for years to come.
Decorate With Multi-Colored Pumpkins
There’s no other vegetable that marks a season like a pumpkin does. Besides your traditional bright orange, pumpkins also come in shades of green, white, gray-blue, and light orange. Think outside the box and challenge yourself in creating an aesthetically pleasing Instagram-worthy display. Most pumpkin patches and stores carry a variety of colors and sizes, but if for some reason you can’t find any, you can always paint them!
Add Cozy Throws To Any Room
Throw blankets are one of the most functional and most used decor items you can have. Whether you’re curled up on the couch watching a movie or with a new book, nothing feels better than being huddled up in a cozy blanket. In fact, I have one across my lap as I sit at my desk and write this. Lay them across your bed, draped over the arm of the couch, or rolled up and stored in open baskets for easy access. Plush chunky knits are particularly cozy and inviting.
Fall Scented Candles
There’s just something about Fall that makes it peak candle burning season. With so many amazing scents to choose from, every time you light a candle can be a splurge-worthy experience. And if you’d rather never smell pumpkin spice anything ever again you’re in luck. There are so many other fall-worthy scents to choose from. Like this Vanille scented candle from Diptyque or my personal favorite, Aging Spirits from Aerangis which smells of star anise, whiskey, and bitter orange.
Enjoy The Season
The fall season has so much to offer, from pumpkin patches, family time, to sitting around the fire. I hope you’re able to take the time to enjoy it all. Here is my Fall Bucket List if you’d like some more inspiration. And if you’d like even more ideas, be sure to follow along on Instagram.
