6 Natural Beauty Products I Use And Love
For the most part, I always try to keep the beauty products I use regularly as natural and eco-friendly as possible. With more brands making the switch to organic ingredients and sustainable sources, finding high-quality natural beauty products is becoming easier and easier. Some years ago, I made a New Years’ resolution to switch out all my beauty products to a more natural alternative. I successfully made the switch and kept it up for the full year. However, when the year was over I did feel the need to switch things up. I decided a mix of natural and conventional was what was going to work best for me. This is a list of 6 of the natural beauty products I love and use daily.
As a person who has an autoimmune disorder and a long list of allergies, I try my best to stay away from too many harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, and artificial dyes. Of course, I have some exceptions and have a hard time straying from my tried and true routines. But who knows, perhaps one day I’ll be back to 100% pure natural and organic ingredients. For now, though, I felt the most important things for me to keep natural were products that spent the most time on my skin and would be absorbed into my pores.
6 Natural Beauty Products I Use And Love
Here is a list of 6 natural beauty products that I’m currently using and loving. Out of all the things I keep all-natural these will most likely never change.
Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm
This makeup remover and cleansing balm use natural oils of sunflower and ginger root to literally melt all sunscreen and makeup right off! Even that tough to remove waterproof eye makeup. There isn’t a strong fragrance to it and a little goes a long way so the product will last a good amount of time. Another thing to love about this balm is it easily washes off without leaving a film on your face. Like the other products from this beauty brand, it’s vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and is made without mineral oil. Lastly, because the ingredients list is so clean and natural it takes the place as my favorite makeup remover or cleansing balm I’ve ever used.
Alba Botanica Very Emollient French Lavender Bath & Shower Gel
I have used this shower gel for years now. From time to time I’ll try something new but I always return back to this particular shower gel. It has a lovely mild calming scent and a rich lather. Because it’s made without any harsh sulfates, it won’t leave you with dry skin that feels stripped of all moisture. I actually prefer to use this gel to shave every day instead of shaving cream. The formula is plant-based, paraben-free, and has no synthetic fragrances.
Native Deodorant
This deodorant is free of aluminum, parabens, and phthalates. Great, but does it work? Yes! I’m happy to say that yes it does work very well. Except for a short time in my teens, I’ve always used natural deodorants but never stuck to one for long because I had such a hard time finding one that worked really well. I found this one 4 years ago and haven’t thought of switching since. The Coconut & Vanilla smells amazing, like a Hawaiian vacation, and by far is my favorite scent, although I will say I thought the other scents were nice as well. The scent isn’t strong enough to clash with my perfume and it’s always held up through tough gym sessions. Also, it doesn’t foam up (honestly I’m not sure if that’s just a natural deodorant thing, but it’s super annoying when that happens). If someone were ever looking for a natural deodorant this is the first one and really the only one I’d recommend to them.
Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo
Discovering this product was a life-changing moment for me. When I have a Hashimoto flare-up my scalp gets so itchy with the worst dry patches and will flake like crazy. This scrub helps by exfoliating your scalp and clearing buildup. The coconut oil is added as a moisturizer and peppermint, spearmint and tea tree oil are very cooling and help to alleviate itching and irritation. All the essential oils in this scrub make for a very refreshing clean scent that reminds me of the spa.
2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner for Dry Scalp With Zinc & Sage
Right after I use the scalp scrub from above, I use this shampoo from John Masters Haircare. I massage it into my scalp and let it sit for a few minutes before washing it out. I then follow that up with a conditioner. This shampoo not only helps with buildup but is also very soothing on a dry itchy scalp. I noticed a big difference after just one use. Oh, and it smells absolutely delicious! Like brown sugar and vanilla. I take my hair care very seriously, but if I didn’t need this shampoo as a scalp treatment I would still use it because it smells amazing!
Burt’s Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion
Body creams and lotions are probably the beauty product that I’m most picky about! If it’s not the scent then it’s the consistency that drives me crazy. I always struggle with finding one that I actually like, instead of just using it because I need to. That’s why this Burt’s Bees lotion makes the list of things 6 natural beauty products I love. It has a sweet but subtle scent so I don’t have to worry about it clashing with my perfume. Not sure if you’ve noticed a trend here, but that’s clearly something I always look out for. Made with shea butter, coconut, sunflower, and jojoba oil, it’s very moisturizing without being greasy. It absorbs quickly so you don’t have to spend 5 minutes trying to rub it in and will leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated.
Even though I really try not to be, I think that I will forever be a product junkie. If I think a new beauty product looks good, smells amazing, or has great reviews, I just have to try it! If it happens that I find a new beauty product or treatment that I feel works better than what I’m currently using, then it’s happily out with the old and in with the new! But for now, and the last long while, the above 6 items are products that I’ve either come back to over and over again or have never found something that I’d want to replace them with. If that changes, I will of course update and let you know!
Have you ever tried any of these 6 beauty products? If so, which do you love? Also, do you have any natural beauty products that you feel should be on this list? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll give them a try!
